Cristina de Giorgi, director
Cristina is responsible for business support services for The Gusto Group as well as overseeing corporate functions, weddings, private parties and outside catering. Secco also stages civil wedding ceremonies and wedding/engagement parties and Cristina handles all aspects of these events. Cristina graduated from the University of Northumbria with a BA in Business Information Technology and went on to achieve an MBA.

 

Aldo de Giorgi, director
Aldo is responsible for the front of house service for the group and for overseeing the drinks selection across all venues. He is responsible for the training and development of 34 front of house staff to ensure customers receive a warm and friendly Italian service in-keeping with the ethos of the company. He has also just competed in the European Jujitsu Championships this year.

 

Joseph de Giorgi, director
Joseph oversees the catering operation and a team of 16 kitchen staff. At the age of seven Joseph started cooking at his father’s restaurant, Don Vitos and then went on to study advanced cooking at Newcastle College. Joseph also trained in history, modern art, film and design as well as print making, sculpture painting and drawing. He designed Popolo when it changed from Don Vitos in 2002 and in 2004 designed Secco Bar, Blue Room and Ristorante Salentino. Joseph is also the leader of the Newcastle Convivium of Slow Food, which protects good quality traditional food from the rise of fast food restaurants. This is highlighted by the company policy to serve only fresh and seasonal produce.

Lori Montalbano, Secco Bar Day Time Manager
Lori has worked for the De Giorgi's for over six years First as Intermezzo's manager then after a break to have her son, as Secco bar day time manager.
